SHILP WORLD on the occasion of National Handloom Day is organizing ‘Shilp World Digital Summit’. The event is curated with an aim to acknowledge the contribution of Indian handloom & handicraft industry for social development, to discuss the challenges and road-maps, and to acknowledge the weavers/craftsmen for their contributions.
ABOUT SHILP-WORLD
SHILP-WORLD is founded by Sundaram Kumari, a computer engineer from India, living in Germany, Being truly an Indian from her heart, she always found it interesting to observe different culture and relate with India’s culture. After working in different part of world, she founded Bhavishya (http://bhavishyanet.org/) and Shilp World (https://sundaramk.sg-host.com/) with a mission to connect the rich cultural heritage of India with the world. We work with master artists, women self help groups to connect the traditional crafts to the world. Shilp World activities includes story telling, workshops, craft dialogues, events, corporate partnership and e-commerce.
Objective of the event:
Covid19 is the most uncertain period for mankind. Everyone is coping to survive and manage their daily lives. Amidst this crisis there are artisans who are struggling because there are no means of earrings. We Shilp World Fair Trade are trying our best to support our artisans and other artisans across India. To support we are conducting live workshops on various traditional crafts of India, online craft dialogues, sharing crafts stories. .
Shilp World Digital Summit is a week-long event – a celebration of finest binding art, design and culture. It brings together craftsmen, designers, social enterprise, institutions, and organisations through workshops, live demonstrations, documentaries, folk performances, panel discussions and fashion show.

A week long online exhibition, celebrating the incredible craftsmanship of India. Featuring seven artisans across India, who are keeping the heritage alive.
