Madhubani paintings – This style of painting was created during the days of the Ramayana and has been made by the village of Madhubani (the literal meaning of which is Forests of honey). The figures are painted with all natural colors based on which are bright and yet have earthy tones. As per tradition, stories from the Ramayan and nature were painted on freshly plastered mud wall of hats, but now are painted on fabric, hand-made paper and canvas. The theme of Madhubani art revolves around Nature, Indian Mythology and Hindu deities depicting nature with flowers, animals, birds, geometric designs and Diets from the Ramayan like Shiva, Parvati, Ram and Sita, Lord Krishna to name a few.
